The Hof International Film Festival and the » Lodderbast, the world’s smallest cinema, are joining together for a common cause: from April 2019, the Hanover arthouse cinema Lodderbast will, once a month, become a Rendezvous partner of the “Festival of New Discoveries”. To kick off the series on 22 April 2019 at 7 pm, HANNA’S HOMECOMING by Esther Bialas will be screened. The artistic director of the Hof International Film Festival, Thorsten Schaumann, as well as other surprise guests, will be in attendance.
Opened in January 2018 by Wiebke and Johannes Thomsen, the Lodderbast arthouse cinema, with 20 seats in the space of 39 square meters, is the smallest cinema in the world. Six days a week, the film theater shows a film program curated according to changing monthly themes and consisting of current premieres, independent films, genre films, experimental cinema and film classics.
“Wiebke and Johannes Thomsen live and love cinema in their Lodderbast. This is a place just like HoF, a true home of films. I am happy that I found this pearl in the city where I grew up and that we regularly show films from the festival in Lodderbast with the series HoF Rendezvous”. Thorsten Schaumann, artistic director of the Hof International Film Festival
