The Hof International Film Festival is one of the most important film festivals in Germany – for many, HOF is THE most important festival for German films. So it is not without reason that Wim Wenders coined the phrase HOME OF FILMS for the Hof International Film Festival.
An ideal mix of industry events and a film festival open to the public provides for the unique flair of the Hof International Film Festival.
Every year around 80 feature films and 50 short films are screened as German and world premieres in some 200 screenings. Sixty percent of the productions are from Germany.
Approximately 500 film professionals and more than 150 journalists attend the festival and report in print and online media. The cinemas are packed and some 30,000 cinemagoers attend the screenings over the course of six days in eight festival cinema locations.
